It's My Church

It's My Church

“My” is a tricky word, especially when applied to something as big as the church. Because it’s not “my” church. It’s Jesus’ church.
But then again, Cornerstone is “my” church. It’s the church where I worship. It’s the church where I serve and grow. It’s the church I’m raising my family in. It’s my spiritual home.
This is my church. I don’t own it, but in a way, it “owns” me. I’m committed to this church. I believe in it, support it, brag about it, and pray for it.
Every church is made up of individuals, and as those individuals grow and embark on God’s mission, the church will grow and embark on God’s mission. The church moves with its members. It’s my church, my local expression of Jesus’ church, and it’s my responsibility to grow so that His Church will grow.
When you say, “I love my church,” you’re saying that you love this body of believers and are committed to growing so that it will grow as well.
It’s my church. My responsibility. My family. My home.
