This is week three in a class taught by Reverend Gary Payne for our Spring Session of Cornerstone University. This study entails a brief review of the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament and the Gospels, followed by an in-depth look at every reference to the Holy Spirit in the Book of Acts.
The Book of Acts is treated as a guide-book to be followed, not just a history book to be reminisced about. We watch as the Holy Spirit empowers, leads, and protects the church. He is welcome in their services, chairs their meetings and tells Paul and others where to take the Gospel Message. The student should come away with an understanding that the Holy Spirit , as God, is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He did for the early church, collectively and individually, He wants to do today.
